Did you know?! All 9 symphonies by Beethoven were arranged for violin and piano and published in the 1880s. Why would anyone do this? Are the arrangements good? What do they sound like?
In a series of 9 concerts with each exploring a Beethoven symphony, Violinist Max Tan and pianist TianYi Li will explore the hidden culture of private music-making before an era of recordings. With the feel of a living room discussion and various recording examples to explore, Max and TianYi embark on an adventure on how the violin-piano duo captures the universe of Beethoven’s symphonies.
This program is presented privately at Plymouth Harbor on the Bay. There are no public tickets available. To enquire about attending this program or presenting it in your community, please email info@soundboxventures.org.
